Recruitment drive underway at GB Bank

GB BANK has bolstered its team with a raft of new appointments.

The property finance specialist has brought on board six new team members in recent weeks as it continues its major recruitment drive which will almost double its current workforce within the next 12 months.

The new colleagues have joined GB Bank as it continues to build its exceptional reputation across the UK for delivering outstanding customer service for flexible property funding solutions for SME developers and investors and competitive savings accounts. 

GB Bank’s appointments span a number of departments including its people, completions, risk, finance and lending teams.

Let’s hear from some of the new recruits.

Jake Baker – Relationship Manager

Jake joins GB Bank as Relationship Manager and brings with him 10 years of experience in real estate finance, working primarily in brokerage with high-net-worth individuals on buy to let and bridging and commercial mortgages.

Jake said: “I am excited to be joining GB Bank as a Relationship Manager to support the growth of its loan book following the recent capital investment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking bank, with excellent people at the heart of the business.

“Outside of work, I’m an avid Newcastle United fan, watching as much football as possible when I’m not spending time with my wife and 14-month-old son!”

Amit Sood – Head of Loan Completions

Amit joins the bank as Head of Loan Completions with previous experience in loan processing, compliance, new customer acquisition and team management.

Amit said: “GB Bank has a good reputation, and the bank has expansion plans which attracted me to the position.  The opportunity to work with a diverse team and tackle complex challenges in a dynamic environment is appealing. 

“I hope to streamline the loan completion process to reduce turnaround times even further and improve overall efficiency. I will foster a culture of innovation where new ideas are encouraged and evaluated, helping the bank to stay ahead in a competitive market.”

Kerry Carter – Loan Completions Officer

Kerry joins the bank having previously worked for Aldermore Bank as a Property Development Support Officer for just over two and a half years. 

Kerry said: “GB Bank is an exciting prospect with huge growth plans in the coming months and years. I hope my experience will add to the team and I am excited to start my new role as Loan Completions Officer.”

Cairon Hale – People Co-Ordinator

Cairon joins GB Bank as People Co-ordinator and comes from a background in recruitment. The role entails supporting the team in all areas of HR, onboarding and recruitment. 

Cairon said: “My role is crucial to feeding the core values of GB Bank throughout the business. I share the huge ambitions for the bank and I’m excited to work with the team in my new role.” 

Juan-Pierre Havenga – Operational Risk Manager

Juan-Pierre joins GB Bank as Operational Risk Manager and brings with him 21 years’ experience in financial services with 14 years of risk management experience in private and specialist banking.

Juan-Pierre said: “I am looking forward to supporting my colleagues as the bank grows, by helping navigate the risks along the way.

“When not at work I am spending time with my family and friends, learning new skills and camping. I can also be found watching Newcastle United with my son as well as cheering on the Springboks and the Stormers.”

Irshad ul Hassan – ALM & Regulatory Reporting Analyst

 Irshad brings extensive experience in business and data analysis within financial services focusing on regulatory reporting, liquidity risks and treasury functions. 

Irshad said: “In my short time here at GB Bank, I’ve been incredibly impressed by the professionalism and expertise of my colleagues.

“I look forward to contributing my skills and being part of the bank’s continued growth and success, driving positive change and building better futures for communities across the UK.”
